Course Training Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded certification indicating you have demonstrated a proficient level of understanding of commonly accepted fall safety systems. Your certification will be specific to the provincial, territorial, or federal jurisdiction applied in the day’s course. This certification also meets the requirements of the training course component of the Canadian Standards Association Z1001 standard, “Occupational Health and Safety Training.”

This end user program will allow you to understand the use of fall protection, as it relates to what you do at height. Various fall protection options exist, this course will identify which options may best meet your needs, and give you the tools and knowledge to work at height safely.

Course Training Objectives

The primary objective of this Aerial Lifts Operator training program is to provide you with the knowledge and skill required to demonstrate safe, competent operation of the AWP and ABL equipment addressed.

Course Training Overview

Thorough study and review of the contents of the training manual, which includes but is not limited to:
• The rules: federal/provincial/territorial regulations, industry standards and company policies.
• Technical theory: identity and function of the main parts, leverage, capacity, and stability
• Operational theory: inspections, travel and setup, safe operation.
• Parking and shutdown, fueling and charging.
• Written theory test to evaluate your understanding of the information reviewed
• Practical training in the topics covered on the specific type of aerial lift you will operate.
• Hands-on practice to acquire the skills necessary to demonstrate the proper operation.
• Practical skills test to evaluate your ability to demonstrate proper operation.
